Eslinda “Linda” Rodriguez Moraida, lovingly known as Linda, was born on August 15, 1944, in Taylor, Texas, and peacefully passed away on April 18, 2026, in Austin, Texas surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was the beloved daughter of Gregorio Herrera Rodriguez and Martha Alderete Moreno. She lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, and service to others. She was a strong and caring woman whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to all who knew her.
She dedicated many years of hard work in the food service industry, including time with Luby’s and the State of Texas. Linda was known for her strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever she was needed.
Linda found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved cooking for her family, especially making her famous homemade flour tortillas. She loved dancing with her loved ones and spending precious time surrounded by family. Her home and heart were always open to those in need.
She will be remembered for her unforgettable laugh, her witty commentary, her affection, and the endless love she gave so freely. She was always there when someone needed her, offering strength, comfort, and care.
Linda leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever: her children Rosie Arvizu, Tito Ortiz Jr., Lisa Ortiz, LueAnn Roman, and George Rodriguez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alex Moreno, Sister Florinda Vera, great granddaughter Adrianna Cantu, daughter Lisa Ortiz, Niece Aurora Garza and Great Niece Serenity Garza and those loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Linda’s faith was an important part of her life, and made sure to instill that with her family.
