Sergio Velasquez

Our Heavenly Father has called our beloved Sergio Velasquez home on August 21, 2020.

Surrounded by his family, Sergio passed peacefully after his battle with long-term chronic illnesses. He dedicated his workforce career employed by Economy Furniture, Pepsi Cola, and Borden Diary and retired in 2006. Sergio lived in Austin and lived his life with true a understanding of a free spirit. Sergio was a very social person and he never considered anyone he met a stranger and will be missed by his family.

Sergio is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Rita (Reyna) Velasquez; and brother, Daniel Velasquez. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Velasquez, Husband Noe Diaz. Grandchildren include Elizabeth Rodriguez, Jorge Rodriguez, Diana Vanessa Velasquez, Rosalinda, and Daniel Ray Diaz and nine great grandchildren.  Siblings include: Herminia Herrera (Pete), Jose Jesus Velasquez (Ernestine), Marcelina Reyes (Manuel), Felix (Mary) Sally, Mary, and Carmen Velasquez.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday September 1, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor followed by Interment at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.

All friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service at the cemetery.
