Reginald Dallas Ladner

November 19, 1943 — May 11, 2026

Reginald Dallas Ladner, aged 82, passed away at his home in Taylor, Texas on May 11, 2026.

Reggie was born on November 19, 1943, in Armada, Michigan to Robert and Hazel (Ellis) Ladner.

He and his older brother, Bob, and younger siblings, Rosemary, and Rick grew up together in the small village of Armada. He had wonderful friends in his neighborhood that have remained close throughout the years.

After high school, he joined the Air Force as a fireman, stationed at Austin-Bergstrom and spent part of his military time in Greenland, serving his country. During this period, he met his wife, Donna (Wilson), on a blind date. They were later married on October 3,1964 at Ridgetop Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. They settled in Donna’s hometown of Taylor, Texas and raised two children, Marla, and Greg.

Reggie worked for Texas Power and Light/TU Electric Company, for 30 years, and retired at 55 years of age. He was proud that while working and taking care of his family, he was able to graduate with his Associate in Applied Science Degree from Temple Junior College.

Reggie loved gardening and always had such great quantities of vegetables that friends would have to stop by to take some home. Reggie was also a long-time member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going on many fishing trips to Port O’Connor with great friends.

Reggie also loved the Aggies and you could almost always find him wearing his “Aggie Grandpa” cap and bragging about his daughter and grandsons, Jake and Ryan, graduating from Texas A&M University.

Reggie was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor, Texas and even after his health declined, he would always watch his church service, at home, on Sunday mornings.

Reggie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob Ladner; his sister-in-law, Sammie Peck; mother and father-in-law, Eldon and Ida Wilson.

Reggie is survived by wife, Donna Wilson Ladner; daughter, Marla and husband, Jeff Lindner; son, Gregory Dallas Ladner. Reggie is also survived by three grandsons; Jake Wilson Lindner, Ryan Scott Lindner, and Rhett Dallas Ladner; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Lindner.

Although we are greatly saddened by this loss, we find solace in the blessing of having Reggie with us, many more years than were expected. We will all miss you here on Earth, but we know it is not goodbye, but until we see you again.
