Jessie “Chuy” Hinojosa Alderete, 77, of Taylor, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Jessie was born on December 1, 1947, in Mission, Texas. He married the love of his life, Beatrice Pachicano Alderete, on February 12, 1966 and they had three beautiful children.
He was a skilled and hard-working man. He began his career as a butcher at Southside Meat Market for many years before becoming a molding tech at Durcon for 20 years where he later retired from. He also worked at TC where many people may have known him from.
Jessie is preceded in death by his parents, Bentura and Andrea Alderete, his wife, Beatrice Alderete, his son, David Alderete, his granddaughter, Melanie Ybarra, his brothers, Joe “Chemo” Alderete and Domingo Alderete, and his sister, Martha Barrera.
He is survived by his daughters, Juanita Alderete (Salomon), Jessica Alderete Moya (Chris), grandchildren, Eric Alderete, JR Moya, Victoria Alejandro, Debbie Prados, Andrea Perez (JP), Paige Platz (Richard), Jessie Gomez, and Mya Moya, great- grandchildren, Catalina Perez, Kash Leyendecker, Julius Hebb, Hagen Platz, Marcelo Perez, Dakota Platz, Lucas Lucio, and Raelee Leyendecker, brothers, Thomas Alderete (Lydia), Daniel Alderete (Martha), Josue Alderete (Josie), Sam Alderete, and sisters, Emma Almazan (Antolin), and Teresa Vega (Eddie).
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a light in the lives of all who knew him. He may have been a man of a few words, but he touched everyone with his contagious smile. When he was not working, he enjoyed playing dominoes with his brothers, hunting, and making his famous beef jerky. He also loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. His unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, from 5-8pm at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 27, at 10 am at Providence Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Taylor.
Honoring as pall bearers will be Anna Riojas, Eric Alderete, Jessie Gomez, Brian Cain, Stacy Shaw, Jose Perez, and Sarah Almazan.
