Dorothy Georgia “Fojtik” Hirt, 92 of Taylor Tx passed away Tuesday May 27th, 2025. Dorothy was born on October 5th 1932 in Taylor Tx to, Emanuel & Vinnie (Zrubek) Fojtik. She grew up with her six sisters; Millie Rieger, Vlasta Arganizo, Lydia Hayes, Louise Matysek, Margie Hamann, Alice Zak, and one brother Albert F. Fojtik. All who have predeceased her in passing. Dorothy was baptized in the Catholic Faith October 15th 1932 at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger Tx. She then received her first communion 13 years later on May 13th 1945 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. Dorothy graduated from Granger High School in class of 51’ and was voted “Most Beautiful” by her classmates.

Dorothy married Robert W. Hirt on June 24th 1961 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor Tx. To this marriage they had two children; Tamara & Gregory Hirt. Upon graduation Dorothy worked with her sister Alice at the Austin Shoe Store in Taylor for several years. Dorothy later, after raising her children returned to work in order to help Robert at the Taylor Livestock Auction.

Dorothy always enjoyed time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids. Her famous last words either on the phone or when her granddaughter was about to make a run, “LOVE YOU, BE SAFE” . Dorothy always enjoyed competing in bowling competitions with her great friends; Juanita Ward & Nancy Hall.

Dorothy is proceeded into death by her loving husband of 63 years Robert, multiple loving family, and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Tamara Friar (Tomme Friar) of Taylor and son Gregory Hirt (Michelle) of Milano. Granddaughter Tana Friar of Taylor, Step Grandson Tomme Blake Friar (Chelsea) of Aspermont Tx. Step Grandson Daniel Peterson of Oklahoma. Great grandchildren; Kyla, Landon, and Sadie Friar. Along with multiple nieces and nephews.
