Debra Ann Cage

September 30, 1955 — March 8, 2026

Debra Cage, age 70, of Thrall, Texas, peacefully gained her wings on Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted husband, Wilbert Cage, and cherished family. Debra’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service to others.

Born on September 30, 1955, Debra was the second child of James Lee Anderson and Adelle Montgomery Anderson. She was raised in Thrall, Texas, where strong family values and deep-rooted faith were instilled in her from an early age. As a young girl, Debra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Thrall, a commitment that would remain the guiding force of her life. Her faith shaped her character, strengthened her spirit, and influenced the way she loved, nurtured, and served those around her.

Debra married Calvin Williams, and together they embarked on a life of adventure that included living in Germany. From this union, three beloved children were born: Sonja Williams Demps, Janica Chanel (Calvin Williams Jr.), and Le’Mar Williams. As a devoted stay-at-home mother, Debra poured her heart into creating a loving, stable, and nurturing home for her family. She embraced the opportunity to live overseas and across the nation, welcoming new cultures and experiences while always keeping her children and family at the center of her world. Upon returning to Thrall, Debra furthered her education by earning an associate’s degree in medical administration, demonstrating her commitment to growth and perseverance.

Debra later found lasting love when she married Wilbert Cage, with whom she shared the remainder of her life. Together, they were faithful members of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Thrall, Texas. Debra and Wilbert treasured time spent together, especially on their yearly family cruises, with their trip to Alaska holding a special place in their hearts. They also enjoyed road trips to celebrate their wedding anniversaries, dancing together, and embracing life with joy and laughter. Their marriage was filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.

Known for her quiet strength, gentle warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family, Debra leaves behind a legacy of faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Preceding her in eternal rest are her father, James Lee Anderson; grandmother, Aira Montgomery; grandfather, Lewis Montgomery; stepdaughter, Kelly Cage; brother, James Lee Anderson Jr.; sister, Janice Anderson; niece Felicia Mitchell; and her parents-in-law, Jim Cage Sr., and Emma (Cage) Kellough.

Debra’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Wilbert Cage; her mother, Adelle Anderson; her children, Sonja Demps, Janica Chanel (Calvin Williams Jr), and Le’Mar Williams (Joy); step-daughter, Cherlita (Niki) Thomas; grandchildren, Shirdelle Cummings, Kevin Demps, Braylon Cummings, and Le’Mar Williams Jr.; great-grandchildren, Saija Shittu and Shomari Shittu; sisters, Barbara Williams, Janet Anderson, Gasalea Johnson (Curtis), Amanda Anderson Miller (Steve), and Rachel Anderson; brother, Lonnie Wayne Anderson (Natsumi); and a host of step grandkids, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends.

Debra, Debbie, Deb, Pookie, or Pooks, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend whose love and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in Peace!
