Danny 'Dan' Ray Cervenka

Danny ‘Dan’ Ray Cervenka, 67, of Taylor, passed away on May 1, 2025. Dan was born on June 20, 1957, to his loving parents, Frank and Mildred (Jecmenek) Cervenka.

Dan graduated from Taylor High School. He held multiple positions with different companies throughout his career, including: Dairy Treat, Schlitz Beer Company, Flowers Electrical, Pancho & Leftys, Taylor Butane, Randy’s Ice House, Bigon Implement Company, and his own business, Dan’s Lawn Services.

Dan was a lifelong inventor and could make something out of nothing. When he was younger, he made a dirt bike and would go cruising down the alley as fast as he could go. The muffler was loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. His friends wanted a dirt bike just like the one he created. He was known for taking things apart to figure out how they work and then putting them back together again.

Dan was hard-working, loved his family and friends unconditionally, and enjoyed country music, hunting, trips to the coast, John Deere, NASCAR, Aggie football, and his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mildred Cervenka, his brother David Cervenka, and his brother-in-law Allan Persky.

He is survived by his daughter Lori Richardson (Eric) of Thrall; granddaughter Averie; sister Dorothy Persky of Bartlett, brother Frank Cervenka (Margaret) of Taylor, sister-in-law Becky Cervenka of Hazelton, Indiana, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dwaine Cervenka, Frank Cervenka, Clay LaRochelle, Ricky Kaiser, Ron Katner, and Dwayne Krueger.

Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1 pm.
