Bertha Nunez Howard of Taylor TX passed away on June 9, 2025 at the age of 43. She was born in Taylor, TX to Candelario and Beatriz (Garcia) Nunez. She attended school in Taylor and was a proud graduate of the “Class of 2000”.
Bertha was a character of her own. She was open hearted, goofy and a light in the darkness. She knew no strangers and had many, many friends. As a child/teenager, Bertha danced for the Round Rock Ballet Folklorico under the direction of her instructor, Ms. Yolanda Sanchez. As an adult, she had a variety of jobs, from Court Clerk with the City of Taylor at age 16 and later as a Bail Bondsman/Bounty Hunter in Williamson County. In her spare time, she served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Coupland Fire Department.
While adventurous in her work life, she was crafty and creative in her home life. Bertha taught herself how to crochet and often made very detailed costumes for her kids for varying activities.
She is preceded in death by her father, Candelario Nunez, and two brothers, Henry Garza and Ysidro Garza.
She is survived by her two sons, Alec (Michael) Romero and Henry Wade Howard; her mother, Beatrice Garcia; three sisters, Cruzita Garza, Marina (Joe) Reyna, Dima Alvarez, and twin sister Yoli (Shannon) Milam; two brothers, Johnny Garza and David (Brenda) Garza; several nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends that she loved.
