Angeline “Angee” Frances Repa Lane was born on August 8th, 1940 to Angeline Hajda Repa and Albert Paul Repa. She was raised in Granger, TX, attending SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and parochial school. She attended Granger High School where she was a teacher’s helper and an excellent student. She won numerous awards in high school, including Betty Crocker Future Homemaker of Tomorrow and Diocesan Youth of the Year. She graduated high school in 1958. Following graduation, Angee worked for Roman Bartosh Law Firm in Taylor as a secretary and learned the tax business.
She was a member of the “road runner” club as a young adult and spent many weekends traveling the country with friends. She went to all 48 contiguous states and enjoyed the adventures.
She married Leonard Fred Lane on November 23, 1974. They built their house, grew their family and enjoyed the farm life in Granger. Most days Angee cooked a big noon dinner and the family would enjoy dinner together while Leonard and Louis took a break from the fields.
In 1979, she started her own tax service, giving her the flexibility to do the work she loved, while still having time to raise her kids and be active in the community. In addition to tax services, she was a bookkeeper for several local business and the local Knights of Columbus council. She loved her clients and considered them family. She continued her tax business until 2023.
She was an active member of SS Cyril and Methodius church and volunteered numerous hours at the annual church picnic and the parish bazaar, baking many cakes for the cake walk and running the live auction. Her volunteering also included supporting SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic School and Granger High School by coordinating and participating in PTA events and the athletic booster club where you could always find her running the concession stand!
She loved sports and had her favorite teams – Astros, Aggies, Cowboys and Spurs. One of her favorite birthday celebrations each year was a trip to Houston for a weekend of Astros games with Leonard and the kids. She watched intently and always tracked the games on her scorecard. She enjoyed many Aggie football, volleyball and baseball games through the years with her family.
Angee was a selfless person, always putting others first. Before having her own children, she doted on her nieces and nephews, often bringing them candy and toys. She was always present for her family, never missing sporting events, graduations, Christmas programs, fund raisers, Grandparents Day and other activities for her kids and grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Albert Repa Jr and her husband, Leonard Fred Lane. She is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Repa Boriskie and brother Louis Frank Repa (Jan); children Gary Don Lane (Elizabeth), Jennifer Lane and Lance Lane (Liz); grandchildren Mason (Sandra), Riley, Logan and Landon.
