Robert James Ponkoney

Bob Ponkoney of Taylor passed away January 27, 2013 at the age of 83.

Bob was born October 21, 1929 to Lee and Mary Ponkoney of Circleville.

Bob was a member of the Taylor Jaycees, American Legion, VFW, and Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He also served as a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. Bob loved sports and drinking coffee at McDonalds. He was also a volunteer fireman for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brother, Lee Roy Ponkoney; his two children, Bobby Ray Ponkoney and Barbara Joy Ponkoney; four grandchildren, Dawn Oetting, Tina Ponkoney, Jennifer Slipis, and Stephanie Ponkoney; five great-grandchildren, and good friend and close companion Betty Rowe.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M. January 31, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.
