Bobby Joe Townsend

Bobby Joe Townsend, 77, of Taylor, passed away June 13, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born September 9, 1934 to Bennie and Gladys (Berry) Townsend in Friendship, TX. Bobby married the love of his life, Gladys (Lenz) Townsend on October 16, 1955.

Bobby worked for 42 years as a pressman at Harts Graphics (formerly Steck Company) in Austin, TX.

Bobby loved camping and fishing, especially at his property in Tivoli, TX. He also loved playing dominoes with family and friends, his wood carvings, and watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Gene Townsend.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gladys, children, Brenda (Griffin) Teggeman, Sherri (Jay) Moldenhour, Byron (Kim) Townsend and Michael (Carrie) Townsend. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason (Shelly) Moldenhour, Steven Teggeman, Jeremy (Amanda) Moldenhour, Travis Teggeman, Jennifer Townsend, Dylan Townsend, Wyatt Townsend and Jake Townsend, and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Moldenhour and Justin Vaden, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, June 15, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Taylor. Pastor Veit and Pastor Miller will officiate. Burial to follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
